ben_woodward_headshotBen Woodward is on music staff as Repetitor mit Dirigierverpflictung at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater in Flensburg, Germany, where he has so far conducted several performances of Singin’ in the Rain, and one performance of Der fliegende Holländer.

He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Fulham Opera, in London.

He is an accomplished conductor, chorus trainer, coach, pianist, harpsichordist, and has additionally edited many works for chamber orchestra, voice, and new editions and arrangements of opera.

He recently finished his time as Organist and Director of Music at St John’s Church in Fulham, where he invigorated the music programme over a 10 year tenure. He has also worked on music staff at Staatsoper Hannover, where he worked on Henze’s Die englische Katze, Hänsel und Gretel, Carmen and Der fliegende Holländer, and at Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, where he worked on Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites.


Ben Woodward was born in Staffordshire. He was educated at Chetham’s School of Music and was then Organ Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge.

Immediately after graduating, he became organ scholar / assistant organist at Christ Church, Greenwich, CT, USA, in his second year of which he mounted two performances of the Bach St John Passion, one in Greenwich, and one in New York City, which he conducted from the harpsichord.
